Fire Pit Rules & Safety Policy
To keep the campsite safe, considerate, and manageable for all guests, we operate a controlled fire pit policy.
1). Only our hire fire pits are permitted
* Only fire pits hired from Axmouth Caravan & Camping Site may be used on site.
* Personal fire pits, disposable BBQs, open fires, chimineas, and any other fire containers are not permitted.
* This allows us to control the number of fires on site and manage safety.
2). Warden discretion applies at all times
* Fire pit use is strictly at the warden’s discretion.
* Wardens may ask for a fire to be extinguished immediately at any time for safety, weather conditions, ground conditions, smoke nuisance, noise, or any other reasonable concern.
* Failure to follow instructions may result in fire pit privileges being removed.
3). Not permitted in the main field
* Fire pits are not permitted under any circumstances in the main electric/touring field.
* This includes any pitches with electric hook-up and the surrounding touring area.
4). Where fire pits may be used
* Fire pits may only be used in the designated tent field area (as directed by the wardens on arrival).
* We may restrict use to specific parts of the tent field depending on conditions.
5) Basic safety requirements
* Fire pits must be kept raised off the ground at all times (no direct heat on grass).
* Keep well clear of awnings, tents, vehicles, hedges, fences, long grass, and anything flammable.
* Never leave a fire unattended. Ensure it is fully extinguished before turning in for the night or leaving your pitch.
6) Fuel and supplies
* Logs can be purchased from the campsite shop (subject to availability).
* Do not burn rubbish, plastics, treated wood, or anything that creates excessive smoke or fumes.
In serious cases, or if instructions are ignored, guests may be required to leave the campsite immediately and no refund will be given.
